About the Author – Erik G. Schneider
The Author was born and raised in the southwest side of Chicago, a neighborhood famous for Al Capone and Italian beef sandwiches. At eighteen, he joined the Navy, serving eight years through Desert Storm and the chaos of ”Blackhawk Down”. He earned decorations and an honorable discharge before settling in Colorado.
There, he met Mary Ellen, the bondsman who took him under her wing and launched his career as a fugitive recovery agent (the professional term for bounty hunter), and Russ Ray, the lawyer, taught him the finer points of investigation and Charisma. From 2002 to 2014, Erik hunted exclusively for Mary Ellen’s family, while also becoming a lobbyist and champion for the bail industry in Colorado and nationwide. He appeared on numerous episodes of A&E’s Dog the Bounty Hunter as a guest star/hunter, bringing his expertise to the team. Erik now lives a quiet rural life with his family, his pets, and the hum.
Bounty Hunters’ Craft: What the Hunt Takes and What It Leaves Behind is Erik’s first attempt to put those lessons on paper. For young bounty hunters, law enforcement officers, or anyone who walks the gray line between order and chaos, these tales offer a hard truth: the real power isn’t in the cuffs. It’s in knowing how to handle people at their worst moments
