Deepak Aggarwal

Deepak Aggarwal is the founder of LumaThink, Singapore. He works on Decision Engineering™ applied to institutions: how institutional purpose and policy become actual human and automated decisions, where that chain breaks, and how control can be rebuilt. He developed the Decision Integrity Chain™, the eight layers a decision moves through inside an institution, and the Fiduciary Gap™, the structural gap between what an autonomous system is optimised towards and what the institution is obliged to protect. His research argues that replayability, not explainability, is the governance standard for institutions whose decisions are executed by agentic systems. Over more than 25 years across banking, insurance, capital markets and healthcare, he has worked on how institutions turn purpose into the decisions their people and systems actually make. He is the author of When Decisions Break, publishes research on SSRN, and writes the Decision Engineering™ newsletter.
