Ken Nodes

Ken Nodes has spent more than five decades studying, practicing, and teaching what it takes to build a strong, healthy body for life. Along the way, he worked on Wall Street, owned a CrossFit gym, and coached hundreds of adults over 40. Though the settings couldn't have been more different, each reinforced the same lesson: lasting success—whether in health, business, or life—is built through patience, consistency, and the power of small actions repeated over time.

Now 60, Ken believes the best years of your physical life don't have to be behind you. What began as a pursuit of performance evolved into a deeper philosophy: that strength, health, and resilience are lifelong pursuits—not goals reserved for the young.

Today, Ken and his wife, Liz, co-own Lifting Kilos, a private coaching practice dedicated to helping everyday adults build strength, improve nutrition, move with confidence, and develop habits that last. Their mission is simple: to help people build bodies that support the lives they want to live—for decades to come.

Ken's work is grounded in a simple belief: meaningful health isn't built through quick fixes or short bursts of motivation. It's built slowly, maintained consistently, and becomes more valuable with every passing year.

Playing the Long Game is Ken's first book, introducing the philosophy that guides his coaching, writing, and belief that it's never too late to build a stronger, healthier life.

When he's not coaching or writing, Ken enjoys strength training, going to the beach, experimenting in the kitchen, spending time with his wife and family and playing with his dog Daphne.
