Kaberi Bhattacharjee

Hello, and welcome!

I am Kaberi Bhattacharjee, a retired special educator, author, podcaster, community advocate, and lifelong learner with more than twenty years of experience supporting students with diverse learning needs, their families, and fellow educators.

My professional journey began as an ESL tutor and continued as a middle school teacher, special educator, mentor, and educational leader. For twelve years, I taught young adults in Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE), helping students develop the academic, social, vocational, and independent living skills needed for life beyond the classroom. Throughout my career, I believed that every child and young adult deserves to learn in an environment where they feel valued, supported, and included. That philosophy continues to guide my work as an author today.

I am the co-author of A Practical Roadmap to Organizing and Managing the Special Ed Classroom and The Friendly Learning Academy: The FLA Way, and the author of The FLA Green Team to the Rescue. Through my books, I strive to provide practical resources for educators while inspiring children and families through stories that celebrate kindness, friendship, resilience, harmony, and inclusivity.

In addition to writing, I serve as a Board Member of Pacific Autism Center for Education (PACE) and volunteer weekly at JW House, where I support families, whose loved ones are receiving medical care. These experiences continue to deepen my appreciation for compassion, resilience, and the power of community. I am also the host of The Enchanted Jungle Community Podcast, where I share conversations that celebrate education, service, lifelong learning, and the people who make a positive difference in the lives of others.

When I am not writing or volunteering, I enjoy gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family. Many of the characters in my children’s books are inspired by the people I love and by my very special students, whose lives enriched my own.
