Personal information:-
My name is Gopal Thapa. My father's name is Pitsbas Thapa, and my mother's name is Lalita Thapa. I was born and brought up in the small town of Barpali, Odisha, India.
I had a simple and modest childhood. I began my education at Veer Surendra Sai Primary School in my locality, where I studied from Class 1 to Class 3. After that, I continued my studies at Samaleswari Upper Primary School in nearby Rajabati, which is located opposite the King's House. I successfully completed my upper primary education there.
Later, my father admitted me to Government Boys' High School, Barpali, where I completed my secondary education. I then joined Milita Gram Panchayat College, Sarasara for my higher secondary studies. Those two years remain some of the most memorable years of my student life.
After completing higher secondary school, I enrolled at Barpali College and earned my Bachelor's degree in Economics. Later, I began a Master's degree in English at Panchayat College, Bargarh, but I could not complete it due to personal reasons. However, I later completed a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree in Uttar Pradesh.
My educational journey has taught me perseverance, adaptability, and the value of continuous learning. These experiences have also inspired my passion for writing and storytelling.
My Working Career
After completing my bachelor’s degree, I began my working life at a jewellery shop in 2012. I continued working there until 2020. Those eight years became an important chapter in my life, shaping my understanding of people, work, responsibility, and the struggles of everyday life.
At the same time, I was determined to build my career in a different direction. I made several efforts to secure a government job and continued trying despite the difficulties I faced. However, limited opportunities and family responsibilities became obstacles to my career growth.
Eventually, I found an opportunity to work in the Soil Conservation Department on a contractual basis. Though it was not the career path I had originally imagined, it became another meaningful chapter in my journey. Looking back, each phase of my working life has contributed to the person and writer I have become today.
My Marriage Life
My parents arranged my marriage with Shibanee Salima, the daughter of Sheshadev Shalima, from a small village in Dhama, Sambalpur district, Odisha. Our marriage marked the beginning of a new and meaningful chapter in my life.
My wife is a working woman and is currently employed in the government sector in Sundargarh, a beautiful district of Odisha. Her dedication to her work and family has always been an important part of our life together.
A year after our marriage, we were blessed with a baby girl. We named her Subhashree Thapa. Her arrival brought a new kind of happiness and meaning to our family, and she became a precious part of our journey together.
