Sheila Carroll

Sheila Carroll is a registered nurse, nonprofit founder, and children's author from Nebraska. For more than 30 years, she has cared for people in long-term care, hospice, and senior living, where she discovered that the greatest healing often begins when someone feels seen, heard, and valued.

She is the founder of Hidden Jewel Acres, a nonprofit sanctuary where people and animals experience connection, healing, and hope together. Through rescued horses and other farm animals, Sheila creates opportunities for children, older adults, veterans, and individuals facing life's challenges to discover confidence, purpose, and belonging.

Her Hidden Jewel Acres Stories series was inspired by the real animals who call the farm home. Each book shares meaningful lessons about kindness, courage, friendship, responsibility, and looking beyond labels. Sheila believes every person—and every animal—has a story worth knowing and a gift worth discovering.

When she isn't writing, you'll find her caring for her horses, spending time with family, or dreaming up the next adventure for the beloved animals of Hidden Jewel Acres.
