Rowan Rivers

I write under the name Rowan Rivers, and the two words carry the whole book.

The rowan survives where other trees can't — thin soil, high ground, hard wind — and its brightest berries come in the harshest season. That's what I learned the slow way. I almost lost my legs, my left eye, and ninety percent of my savings before I understood that fruitfulness comes from preparation and surrender, not from easy conditions.

Rivers is the other half: the supply I could never produce for myself. And a river only stays fresh by moving. Dam it and it stagnates. That's how I've come to see money — not a reservoir to guard, but a current to steward, so that everything downstream lives.
