William A. Reed

William A. Reed is a fourth-generation funeral director, artist, and author whose roots run deep in the small towns of central Pennsylvania. Since 2011, he has owned and operated his family’s funeral home, continuing a tradition of service that has endured for more than a century.

His years in funeral service have given him a unique understanding of grief, memory, family relationships, and the secrets people carry with them—subjects that frequently find their way into his fiction. His mysteries explore ordinary communities where familiar places, trusted neighbors, and long-buried events are rarely what they first appear to be.

William is also an accomplished painter whose landscapes, seascapes, and abstract works are inspired by memory, atmosphere, and the rural Pennsylvania countryside. Whether working with words or paint, he is drawn to the stories hidden beneath the surface.

Active in his community, William serves on the Gratz Borough Council and belongs to several professional and civic organizations. He lives and creates in central Pennsylvania.
