Ivan Barroso

Ivan Barroso was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1980 and holds a PhD in Media Arts and Communication (Game Studies) from Universidade Lusófona. He is currently an Assistant Professor at Universidade Lusófona, where he teaches in the BSc in Video Games and the Master's degree in Game Design and Playable Media. He also teaches in the BA in Arts and Video Games at ETIC. Barroso is the author of two published books: História dos Videojogos (2012) and Revolução Interactiva (2018), and co-author of Service Games: The Rise and Fall of SEGA (2014). He is certified in Rational Game Design by Ubisoft and previously served as Lead PlayStation First Project Manager at GameNest Lisbon. More recently, he worked as Game Designer on the award-winning Alentejo: Tinto's Law© and Alentejo: The Tinto and The Ugly©, developed by Loading Studios for the Game Boy, PC, and mobile platforms. He is currently developing #31: Luzyahdas: The Botafogo Odyssey©.
