Thomas M Lutz

Thomas M. Lutz is a native of Poughkeepsie, New York. Attended St. John's University, Queens and St. Joseph's Seminary.

His parents and teachers taught him a great love of reading all types of books. As a child he had the blessings of Adriance Memorial Public Library as well as a home library with many great books.

His favorite authors are: G.K. Chesterton, Mark Twain, C.S. Lewis, Agatha Christie, Ellis Peters, J.R.R. Tolkien, J.K. Rowling,

Arthur C. Clarke, Pope Benedict XVI and Flannery O'Connor just to name a few.

He had the joy of visiting England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Spain, Germany and Italy on many occasions. During the summer of 2004 he joined the American Chesterton Society pilgrimage to England where he visited the former home and grave of Gilbert K. Chesterton in Beaconsfield. He enjoyed a whirlwind tour of White Horse Vale, Oxford University, Oxborough Hall, Cambridge University, Canterbury, Stratford-on-Avon, Glastonbury, the Shrine of the Virgin Mary in Walsingham, North Norfolk and many historic sites in London.

In 1993, he was ordained to the Roman Catholic priesthood at St. Patrick's Cathedral in New York and has been assigned to several parishes in the Hudson Valley. He is also a chaplain to several local police departments, and chaplain to the Sovereign Military Hospitaller Order of St. John of Jerusalem, of Rhodes & Malta. He is also a U.S. Navy Reserve veteran.

He hopes you enjoy his Gilbert Chesterton Mystery series. He is presently working on several other works of fiction and a fantasy trilogy, as well as several more books in his Gilbert Chesterton mystery series.
