S.E. Drisdell

S.E. Drisdell is a children’s author, illustrator, and graphic designer whose work is inspired by faith, resilience, and a love for meaningful storytelling. She earned her Bachelor of Applied Science in Business Management with a concentration in Graphic Design, where she discovered her passion for combining art and storytelling to create works that encourage and inspire. Known for her genuine spirit, kind heart, and quiet sense of humor, Drisdell believes that relationships and personal growth are life’s greatest treasures. Her children’s stories reflect that perspective, inviting young readers to discover beauty, hope, and imagination in everyday moments.

While studying graphic design, she explored a variety of artistic styles before ultimately returning to the faith and values that shaped her life. She credits an English Composition professor with teaching her how to develop memorable characters, a lesson that sparked her passion for writing. Inspiration often comes unexpectedly, and many of her characters are rooted in the people and relationships that have influenced her own life.

S.E. Drisdell was born in Hartford, Connecticut, on December 12, 2000, but grew up in Pensacola, Florida. When she was just four years old, she lost her mother, who was of Jamaican heritage. Through life’s challenges, she has experienced the transforming power of faith, forgiveness, and family. She often refers to her stepmother as her “bonus mom,” who is one of her greatest supporters alongside her father. Drisdell also has a large family, consisting of one biological brother, three half-siblings, and three stepsiblings. Today, she shares her home with her beloved cats, Hiyori and Haruko. Both carry great meaning—“sunshine and harmony” and “spring child.”

Through a variety of genres, S.E. Drisdell hopes to help others dream boldly, find adventure, and discover the goodness found in the world around us and within ourselves.
