Tyler Barnes

Tyler Barnes is a Canadian author whose work wanders comfortably through dystopian science fiction, cyberpunk, memoir, and the stranger corners of speculative fiction.

He grew up in Smithers, British Columbia, and now lives in Kelowna. Before becoming an author, he accumulated the sort of eclectic blue-collar work history that provides plenty of material for imagining broken systems, difficult people, and worlds held together with improvised repairs.

A lifelong fan of science fiction, punk rock, dystopian literature, and tabletop role-playing games, Tyler has been building imaginary worlds for decades. When he isn't writing, he's usually running a Dungeons & Dragons campaign, 3D printing something unnecessarily complicated, sewing, working with leather or wood, or rewatching Firefly and Babylon 5.

His fiction tends to focus less on saving the world than on the people trying to survive the machinery that runs it.
