ALM Projects

Luis Malave is an author, publisher, and community advocate from New Britain, Connecticut. Born in Puerto Rico and raised in Connecticut, he writes urban fiction and LGBTQ+ stories rooted in real neighborhoods, real struggles, and the power of second chances.

As the founder of ALM Projects- Write To Rise, Luis Malave publishes his own work and helps other authors bring their stories to life. He also leads Write to Rise KDP Publishing workshop, a writing and empowerment class Monday and Thursday at New Britain Public Library, a class that teaches people that they don't need to be professional writers to have a story worth telling.

Luis believes writing is a form of empowerment. His message is simple: everyone has a story, everyone has value, and everyone deserves an opportunity to rise.
