Daryoush Tehranchi

Daryoush Tehranchi, Ph.D., is an engineer, systems architect, educator, and author with nearly four decades of experience leading complex technical organizations and making consequential decisions in demanding environments.

His career has spanned systems and software engineering, architecture, digital engineering, artificial intelligence, technical leadership, business, and organizational management. He has led multidisciplinary teams, advised senior decision-makers, developed technical professionals, and worked at the intersection of technology, people, organizations, and strategy.

Dr. Tehranchi also brings an academic and business perspective to his work. He has taught university-level business and project-management courses, including PMP-focused instruction. His education includes a Ph.D. in Computer Science, a master’s degree in Computer Science and Management, an MBA in Management, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Mathematics.

His books draw on decades of real-world experience to explore the challenges of leadership, architecture, decision-making, complex systems, and increasingly, what it means to remain distinctly human in an age of rapidly advancing artificial intelligence.

His first four books focus on technical leadership, architecture, digital engineering, and complex systems. The Last Human Decision: Judgment, Trust, and Purpose When Machines Do the Rest begins a new direction—examining judgment, trust, wisdom, creativity, accountability, purpose, and the human qualities that become more valuable as machines become more capable.

Across his writing, one idea remains constant: technology matters, but the decisions that shape organizations, careers, and lives are ultimately human decisions.
