Franck Fatras

Franck Fatras is a technology and financial services executive, entrepreneur, and lifelong student of how technology changes businesses, economies, and the way people work.

Over more than two decades, he has built, scaled, and transformed organizations at the intersection of finance, technology, and operations. His career has included senior leadership roles at Western Union, First Data, and CAN Capital, as well as co-founding LendingPoint, where he helped build and scale a technology-driven lending company. Today, he serves as President and COO of FairSquare, the holding company of National Funding, QuickBridge, National Funding XPRS, SmallBusinessLoans, and Finova Capital.

His interest in artificial intelligence comes from a broader fascination with technological change—and particularly with what happens when technological capability advances faster than businesses and society can adapt to it. Drawing on decades of operating experience, he approaches AI not simply as a technology, but as an economic and organizational force that will reshape how companies are built, how work is performed, and ultimately how value is created.

Born and raised in Normandy, France, Franck has retained an enduring curiosity about the world and an unwillingness to stop learning. He believes there is no age at which someone becomes too old to take a class, challenge an assumption, or discover an entirely new subject.

That curiosity extends well beyond business. He is an avid reader of science fiction, with Jules Verne, Philip K. Dick, and Isaac Asimov among his greatest literary influences—writers who imagined the consequences of technological change long before much of that technology existed. He also has a deep appreciation for art, particularly the Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters, and for the very different ways in which artists such as Monet, Manet, Gauguin, and Van Gogh learned to see the world.

Away from business and books, Franck is happiest pursuing experiences that involve a little more velocity and altitude. He is an enthusiastic motorcyclist and skydiver, and has a profound love of animals—strong enough that it ultimately persuaded a Frenchman to give up eating meat.

Whether in business, technology, literature, art, or adventure, the philosophy is much the same:

Stay curious. Question what seems obvious. Keep learning. And never become too comfortable with the world as it is when there is so much possibility in what it could become.
