Luis D. Rico

Luis D. Rico (Alcalá del Júcar, Albacete, Spain) holds a degree in Economics and spent twelve years in digital content creation before moving into healthcare administration. Of Andalusian and Castilian-Manchegan descent, he grew up on the banks of the river Júcar, and that is where the voices, trades and silences of this novel come from.

Relatos de un suspiro (Tales of a Sigh) grew out of two things: the wish to honour his grandfather, and the conviction that a country's history is best understood from a small village — where no one is entirely innocent or entirely guilty, and where what goes unsaid weighs as much as what is told.

His grandfather Pepe was a schoolteacher. To him he owes his love of books, and the title of this one, which is also a way of giving it back. The novel is written in Spanish.
