James Wesley Cummins is a Texas author, pastor, artist, military veteran, and former bull rider with thirty-six years of experience in law enforcement and international policing. Raised on a farm south of Weatherford, he later returned to serve as senior pastor of Grace Baptist Church.
His service in the U.S. Army, Marine Corps, Texas Army National Guard, and international policing missions in Kosovo informs his writing about courage, duty, faith, and the human condition.
His books range from science fiction and historical mysteries to children’s adventures, brain-training puzzles, and practical journals. His Tommy and the Little Farms series encourages kindness, gratitude, community service, and care for God’s creation. In novels such as The Garden and The Sacred Besa, he explores questions of identity, loyalty, technology, and moral responsibility.
He lives in North Texas with his wife, Terrie.
