Russell Dilling

Russell Dilling is a U.S. Army veteran, father, and grandfather. With a background in military weapons repair and gunsmithing, he takes a practical, hands-on approach to complicated questions. Enlisting in the Army became a defining turning point in his life, giving him confidence, direction, and a sense of purpose that continued long after his service.

Conversations at the Edge of the Universe grew from his questions about dark matter, time, consciousness, identity, and the limits of human knowledge. The book records an extended conversation in which Artificial Intelligence served as a tool for exploring and challenging those questions—not as a substitute for Russell’s voice or conclusions.

What began as curiosity about the universe gradually became a deeply personal examination of memory, loss, meaning, and what we leave behind. Russell wrote the book first as a legacy for his children, grandchildren, and future generations, and then chose to share it with other curious readers willing to ask questions that may not have final answers.
