Erica Wolf is a Kentucky-based children’s author, mother, and phlebotomist who has spent more than 24 years working in healthcare. Writing has long been a creative outlet, but it was her own journey of personal growth that gave her a reason to begin writing with purpose.
While working on The Intentional Edit, a project for adults centered on understanding patterns, triggers, coping skills, and intentional change, Erica came to an important realization: many of the emotional tools she was learning as an adult were tools she wished she had been given as a child.
That realization became the heart behind her children’s books.
Through the world of Rivertown and the Pip Story series, Erica introduces children to big emotions and real-life challenges through characters and stories they can understand. Her books explore friendship, frustration, anxiety, different responses to stress, communication, confidence, coping skills, and the many different ways courage can look.
Her goal isn’t to tell children what they should feel. It’s to help give them the language and tools to understand what they’re already feeling — and to remind them that learning how to handle big feelings takes practice.
Erica lives in Kentucky, where she continues writing stories about Pip and his friends and building a world where growing up includes learning what’s happening on the inside, too.
