Alan Howard

Alan Howard is an energy and national security expert whose career has spanned more than three decades of international business, global trade, logistics, defense, and academia. He began working internationally in 1994, with a focus on global shipping, trade, and supply chains—experience that gave him an early appreciation for how deeply energy, infrastructure, economics, and geopolitics are intertwined. In 2009, he brought that international perspective into the national security arena at the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, where he now serves as Chair of the Energy Academic Group.
