Prof. (Dr.) A. Selvarasu is a distinguished Professor of Management, author, researcher, academic mentor, innovation ambassador, and entrepreneur with more than 28 years of experience in higher education, research, training, institutional development, and business consulting. He serves in the Department of Business Administration at Annamalai University, Tamil Nadu, India. His academic qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, a Master of Business Administration, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Management.

Since beginning his academic career in 1998, Prof. Selvarasu has remained committed to making management education practical, visual, technology-enabled, and accessible. His teaching and research interests include marketing management, organizational behaviour, advertising and sales promotion, consumer behaviour, service design, human-resource development, career assessment, entrepreneurship, business analytics, artificial intelligence, and strategic decision-making. He is particularly interested in transforming established theories into practical tools that students, teachers, researchers, professionals, entrepreneurs, and organizations can apply in real-world situations.

Prof. Selvarasu’s books are designed to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and professional practice. Instead of presenting management concepts only through conventional descriptions, he uses structured frameworks, visual models, self-assessment exercises, projective techniques, practical illustrations, analytical templates, and step-by-step applications. His writing encourages readers to observe, assess, interpret, experiment, and convert knowledge into measurable action.

His book, “Job Fit for Success: Triangular Self-Assessment, Projective Methods and Application,” presents an integrated approach to understanding personality, vocational interests, behavioural characteristics, career preferences, and employment suitability. It connects established assessment frameworks—including personality, interest, and behavioural models—with practical career-development applications. The book is intended to help students, graduates, employees, career counsellors, teachers, and job seekers evaluate the relationship between individual characteristics, occupational expectations, and organizational requirements. It also supports the preparation of professional résumés, career plans, competency profiles, and interview strategies.

Prof. Selvarasu is also the author of works relating to marketing management, advertising and sales promotion, organizational behaviour, service value creation, group effectiveness, and business applications. His book “Marketing Management: A Visual Step-by-Step Strategy Guide” is designed to help learners understand marketing concepts through structured lessons, visual explanations, decision frameworks, and practical strategy exercises. His work on advertising management and sales promotion introduces major concepts through systematic modules, applications, assessments, and contemporary examples.

Another important contribution is “Workgroup Simulation: Performance and Group Effectiveness,” which explores team behaviour, interpersonal relationships, group processes, leadership, communication, coordination, and performance. The work enables learners to understand organizational behaviour through participation, observation, reflection, and simulation. His educational materials are particularly useful for management students because they connect classroom concepts with situations that managers and employees regularly encounter in organizations.

Beyond conventional publishing, Prof. Selvarasu actively integrates books with digital learning tools and artificial-intelligence applications. He is the Founder of BiCon BizAI Integ Consulting Services, a faculty startup developed to connect academic theory, consulting practice, entrepreneurship, and AI-powered business solutions. The initiative supports learners and organizations through a progression from theory and training to digital application and consulting.

Through BiCon BizAI, he has developed and guided technology-enabled initiatives such as Job Fit AI and Service Value Studio. Job Fit AI complements his career-development and job-fit framework by supporting self-assessment, career profiling, résumé development, applicant-tracking-system alignment, and professional preparation. Service Value Studio helps users study and design service experiences by examining service processes, customer interactions, front-stage and back-stage activities, moments of truth, value creation, and improvement opportunities. These initiatives demonstrate his continuing effort to convert academic models into useful digital resources.

Prof. Selvarasu has contributed to curriculum development and the coordination of management programmes. He served as Coordinator of the Executive MBA programme offered for executives of NLC India Limited from 2017 to 2021. He was also associated with the coordination of distance and online MBA programmes from 2021 to 2024. Earlier in his career, he served on Central Government deputation as Professor of Marketing at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles and Management under the Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, from 2007 to 2009.

His professional journey reflects a strong interest in educational innovation and industry-oriented learning. He has been associated with Harvard Business School Publishing as a valued educator and has used simulation-based and decision-oriented learning resources to enrich management education. He has also worked with technology-supported marketing and decision platforms that help learners experience managerial problems, analyse alternatives, and understand the consequences of their decisions.

As an Innovation Ambassador associated with the Institution’s Innovation Council initiative of the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell and AICTE, Prof. Selvarasu promotes innovation, entrepreneurship, ideation, intellectual-property awareness, startup development, and technology adoption among students and scholars. He encourages young people to move beyond passive learning and become creators of knowledge, applications, services, and enterprises.

His research interests extend across consumer behaviour, service quality, occupational safety, employee behaviour, dealer performance, market segmentation, luxury-fashion adoption, corporate social responsibility, augmented-reality marketing, public-utility services, and AI-supported business analysis. He has guided and supported research involving statistical methods such as reliability analysis, exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis, structural-equation modelling, cluster analysis, principal-component analysis, analytical-hierarchy processes, and performance-index development.

As a research supervisor and academic mentor, he encourages scholars to define socially and managerially relevant problems, apply appropriate research methods, and communicate their findings clearly. His approach places equal importance on theoretical contribution, analytical quality, practical value, and ethical academic practice.

Prof. Selvarasu believes that books should not merely transfer information; they should enable readers to assess themselves, develop capabilities, solve problems, and create value. His works are therefore written as learning companions that combine conceptual foundations with tools, exercises, cases, visual models, and digital applications.

Through teaching, research, writing, mentoring, consulting, and entrepreneurship, Prof. (Dr.) A. Selvarasu continues to advance an integrated vision of management education—one in which academic knowledge is transformed into professional competence, technological innovation, employability, organizational improvement, and social value.

His guiding philosophy is expressed through the words: “Create. Complement. Congratulate.”
