Marilyn Edwards

Marilyn Edwards is an author, intuitive healer, teacher, and Modern Day Medicine Woman who has often thought of herself as a "Reluctant Mystic." It is also the title of her chapter in the anthology The Moment I Said Yes, and it describes a life spent learning to trust the mystical while staying grounded and practical.

For more than 30 years, Marilyn has studied and worked with alternative health, body-centered therapies, energy medicine, neuroscience, sound intuition, and the healing intelligence of the natural world.

Her path into this work was not conventional. Before becoming a healer, Marilyn was an artist and later, a licensed captain of commercial fishing and tugboat vessels. In her life, she has experienced trauma, family alcoholism, caregiving, loss, serious physical injury, and the challenge of rebuilding her health and her career.

Those experiences became part of her education.

She became deeply interested in why people can get trapped in fear, overthinking, and old subconscious patterns and beliefs that disconnect them from their true nature and the gifts they have to share with the world.

In addition to extensive study and professional training, Marilyn experiences a strong intuitive relationship with energy, nature, sound, and the unseen dimensions of life. Her own journey taught her that sensitivity does not have to mean overwhelm and that spiritual gifts are not meant to take us away from ordinary life. They can become deeply practical when we learn to quiet the overactive mind, release fear, reconnect with joy and the natural world, and bring our soul wisdom into physical life.

Through her private client work and Awake & Wise classes, Marilyn helps sensitive, intuitive people bring their gifts to the world.

Her spiritual journey has carried her through many experiences, belief systems, and ways of understanding reality. Along the way, she awakened to one core truth: what she calls "the love that has no opposite" ... a place beyond division and duality that we can return to within ourselves.

From that realization came the words that have become a touchstone for her life and work:

Only Love Prevails.

Marilyn lives in Florida surrounded by woods and wildlife, where her relationship with the natural world continues to inspire her writing, healing work, and teaching.
