About the Author
David Lucas is an Irish author and founder of Humanity Series Publishing, where he writes the Humanity Health Series, exploring nutrition, human health, the modern diet and our relationship with food.
After years of struggling with his weight and health, David adopted a strict carnivore diet. Over more than two and a half years, he lost nearly 100 pounds without chronic hunger or calorie counting. During that time, he also experienced major changes in several physical problems that had affected him, including tachycardia, swollen ankles and blurred vision, along with improvements in energy, stamina and overall wellbeing.
His experience led him to question many assumptions surrounding modern nutrition and investigate what humans may be best adapted to eat.
David is not a doctor and does not present his experience as medical advice. He writes as an independent author and researcher, bringing together personal accounts, expert perspectives, scientific research and competing interpretations.
His aim is simple: to help people struggling with weight or health investigate the evidence for themselves.
“We are not what we eat. We eat what we are.”
