Douglas Knutson

Douglas Knutson, PhD, (he/him) is the Coordinator for the Health, Education, and Rural Empowerment (HEaRE) Lab. He serves as an associate editor for the Journal of Rural Mental Health and was the American Psychological Association (APA) 2023 Excellence in Rural Psychology Award recipient. Dr. Knutson was also selected as the National Register of Health Service Psychologists 2023 Judy E. Hall Early Career Psychology Award recipient and his first book was recognized with an APA Division 44 Distinguished Book Award. His work represents ongoing efforts to translate high-impact research and scholarship into accessible formats that improve health and health care access for rural populations and other communities facing health access disparities.
