David Wicks

David Wicks is an educator, researcher, and author who explores how educational innovation can support meaningful learning. He is a professor of teacher education at Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology in China and previously served on the faculty of Seattle Pacific University in the United States.

He is coauthor, with Arthur K. Ellis and Leanna B. Aker, of *Research on Educational Innovations*, sixth edition. His writing connects educational research with practical questions: What makes an innovation worth adopting? How strong is the evidence behind it? How can educators adapt promising approaches to their students and teaching contexts?

Wicks developed QUEST+AI, an inquiry-based learning model designed to help students ask thoughtful questions, examine evidence, and use artificial intelligence while retaining responsibility for their thinking and decisions. His interests include reflective learning, AI literacy, digital equity, online and blended learning, and the preparation of future teachers.
