Scotty Miller is an author, retired law-enforcement officer, and former child-exploitation investigator whose career has taken him from military service to some of the most difficult criminal investigations imaginable.
After serving eight years in the U.S. Army, including time with the 82nd Airborne Division and a combat deployment to the Middle East, Miller began a 22-year career in law enforcement. Twelve of those years were spent investigating crimes against children, including seven years assigned to an Internet Crimes Against Children task force working alongside federal investigators.
His firsthand experience investigating online child exploitation became the foundation for Call Us Daddy, a true-crime account told from the perspective of the detective who investigated the case.
Miller writes with the goal of taking readers behind the scenes of criminal investigations while raising awareness about the dangers children can face online. His work emphasizes the importance of recognizing warning signs, understanding online safety, and protecting vulnerable children.
He lives with his wife, Shawntelle, and continues his commitment to public service beyond law enforcement.
