Ichabod Poole

Ichabod Poole was born in the Whittenton section of Taunton, Massachusetts, in 1952, four streets up from the Mill River, and has lived within a dozen miles of the Taunton River ever since.

He has spent more than fifty years collecting the ghost stories and odd histories of southeastern New England, in libraries, church basements, diners, union halls, and barrooms.

He has seen the ghost of Route 44 twice. He has slept and had breakfast in the Lizzie Borden house. He goes into the Freetown woods in the morning and comes out before the light goes.

His series, Ichabod's Haunted New England, covers Dighton Rock, the Freetown State Forest, the Route 44 hitchhiker, Lizzie Borden, Taunton State Hospital, and the Bridgewater Triangle.
