M.R.Rodriguez was born in New York City. He grew up in Washington Heights and sang in the choir at the Broadway Methodist Temple Church. There was a dining hall and bowling alley below the church, and he was a helper as a scout in Troop 718 of the Boy Scouts. He banged the bass drum in the scout marching band. After graduating from Wofford College, he lived and worked in Colorado for eight years as a territory manager for a large carpet manufacturer covering the Rocky Mountain region. There he enjoyed snow skiing when he traveled through the territory.
Then he moved to Mexico. There he learned to scuba dive at Los Arcos in Puerto Vallarta. He bought horses to take tourists on rides up into the hills of the Bahia de Banderas. His favorite horse was a black horse named Tornedo, and every morning, he shares coffee with his parrot, Ditto. Both became characters in his stories that are travel adventures written for the young and old. He writes about Dr. Domo, the Taino Immortals, and the children he brings to the orphanage built out of church in Moravian Falls, North Carolina. His books include MORAVIAN FALLS- THE FANTASTIC ADVENTURES OF DR. DOMO, ISABELA'S REVENGE, and PAN y CAFE- ANATOMY OF A PUERTO RICAN DON JUAN.
