Benjamin Bader is a Professor of International Human Resource Management at Newcastle University Business School, an author, researcher, and internationally recognized expert on Global Mobility and strategic people management. For nearly two decades, he has explored how organizations manage people across borders and how Global Mobility can evolve from an operational necessity into a strategic contributor to business success.
His work combines academic research with practical experience advising organizations, developing leaders, and working with Global Mobility professionals around the world. Benjamin is the co-founder of MasteringGM®, an initiative dedicated to helping Global Mobility professionals strengthen their strategic influence, challenge established thinking, and create greater value for their organizations. Through executive education, workshops, consulting, and keynote presentations, he works to bridge the gap between research and practice.
His book, From Operational to Strategic Global Mobility: How to Build a Function That Creates Talent and Business Value, brings together insights from nearly twenty years of research, conversations, and professional experience. Featuring a foreword by renowned HR thought leader Dave Ulrich, the book challenges conventional assumptions about Global Mobility and explores what it takes to build a function that contributes meaningfully to organizational success.
Benjamin believes that the future of Global Mobility is not simply about moving people more efficiently, but about understanding why organizations move people, what value mobility creates, and how the profession can help shape better business decisions.
