Anke Petersen

Anke Petersen was born in Hanover, Germany, in 1973 and grew up in Berlin. She studied German Literature and Political Science in Düsseldorf. Words and stories have always been part of her life, both personally and professionally, as an editor, copywriter and author.

After 26 years in Düsseldorf, she swapped city life for a house in the countryside. She has two daughters.

Her writing explores people, relationships and the curious contradictions between what we say, what we want and what we actually do. She has a particular fascination with human behaviour, unspoken truths and the absurdities of modern life.

In her literary memoir, Galerie der Versuche – von Dating, Hoffnung & anderen Katastrophen, she turns her sharp eye and dry sense of humour towards modern dating, relationships and female independence.

Through her platform Literally Bloom, she also publishes essays, reflections and observations on people, language, relationships and life.
