Preußischen Meteorologischen Institut. 1895-1935 war er wissenschaftlicher Mitarbeiter der optischen Werkstatt der Firma Carl Zeiss in Jena, 1913-40 a.o.Prof. am dort für ihn errichteten Lehrstuhl für medizinische Optik. 1926 wurde Rohr in die Deutsche Akademie der Naturforscher Leopoldina gewählt. Er arbeitete über räumliches Sehen, Sehhilfen, optische Systeme und Instrumente sowie auf dem Gebiet des Optikrechnens und beschäftigte sich mit der Geschichte der technischen Optik. - Tlw. min. gebräunt bzw. fleckig, sonst schönes Exemplar. - Sarkowski 3659. ge Gewicht in Gramm: 1000 Gr.-8°. Im Interims-Einband. Das vorliegende Exemplar ist nicht nur unbeschnitten, sondern an der Oberkante auch unaufgeschnitten. Ein Buch im Interimseinband ist eine Broschur, die der Erwerber gemäß seinem Geschmack fest einbinden lassen wollte, deshalb möglichst leicht und locker geheftet, damit der Buchbinder beim Zerlegen und Neuaufbinden möglichst wenig Arbeit hat. Hier blieb alles original. Im vorliegenden Exemplar hat sich der Einband abgelöst, was aber nicht als Mangel gewertet wird, da verlagsseitig beabsichtigt. Stammt aus dem Nachlaß des Prof. Dr. Werner Thiele. ++++++++++++++ Erhaltung: Am vorderen Umschlag fehlt ein kleines Randstück. Am Rückenbezug fehlt ca. 1,0 cm.
