Pierre Davity ou d'Avity (1573-1635) propose ici une vaste encyclopédie sur l'histoire et la géographie du monde, enrichie par la suite par François Ranchin et Jean-Baptiste de Rocoles. On y trouve d'importantes considérations sur l'Amérique (notamment sur la religion des Incas et des Aztèques), mais aussi sur la Chine, la Perse et les Etats des Turcs en Asie et en Europe, l'Afrique (dont l'Ethiopie et l'Empire du Prêtre-Jean ou le Royaume de Congo). Prix en l'état pour cet exemplaire bien complet, dont le premier plat est pratiquement désolidarisé et la reliure fort. frottée, avec qq. petits travaux de vers marginaux n'affectant pas le texte, un petit accroc sans mq. à un feuillet, bon état par ailleurs).
