First edition of this original French ethnological travel account through India, and present-day Pakistan and Afghanistan between the Wars. Chauvelot (1879-1937) was a French Colonial administrator, ethnologist, travel writer, and novelist who made extensive trips through South Asia, East Asia, and Southeast Asia in the early 20th Century. This was first published in English translation the next year in 1921.
