    c.1853. color cropped reproduction of 24x26 original lithograph. Image 6.75x10.25 on 9.75x12.75 card stock. Near Fine. British born Fanny and husband Edmund Seymour Palmer (1809-59) had two failed attempts at the printing business before Fanny became the first female lithographer for Currier & Ives from 1849-68 producing over 200 lithographs. Additional owner inserted engraving of (anon) "The Watchers" to front pastedown (Woman, dog and sleeping toddler). unspecified edition. Original blind-stamped gilt decorated cloth. Album owner was Emily (Emilie) Annas with 51 inscribed entries from 1855-1860 (some are faintly visible). Additional provenance from KENDE GALLERIES AT GIMBEL BROTHERS, NEW YORK, 1947 SALE confirms the lithographs broken from an original: "FLOWERS IN FROLIC: SET OF S1X LITHOGRAPHS. Francis (sic) and Seymour Palmer, American: XIX Century. Hand-colored lithographs of a romantic flower ballet; published 1847-48. American on Stone by Peters, page 305-306. Very rare. (6 pieces)".British born Fanny and husband Edmund Seymour Palmer (1809-59) had two failed attempts at the printing business before Fanny became the first female lithographer for Currier & Ives from 1849-68 producing over 200 lithographs.
