Very interesting art auction sale catalogue of the collectio…n of paintings of M. Edwards. It contains three articles by leading French art critiques with commentary on the collector and his paintings. It is also one of the very first catalogues to be illustrated by original photographs. This expensive method was used because photo reproduction techniques were not yet developped. Amont the illustrated paintings are works by Eugène Delacroux, Jules Dupré , Théodore Rousseau etc.
