Rückseitig Atelierstempel des Photographen und eigenhändige Widmung und Unterschrift des Bildhauers. Brief und Widmung auf dem Photo an einen Marshall Bean mit Genesungswünschen, schickt das beiliegende Phot…o. Die Aufnahme zeigt Moore vor eigenen Werken im Atelier. Bei dem (Amateur-)Photographen handelt es sich mit ziemlicher Sicherheit um Frank Stanton (1908-2006), 1946-1971 Präsident des Medienkonzerns CBS. Stanton traf Moore erstmals 1961 in dessen Wohnhaus/Atelier Hoglands in Perry Green, Much Hadham (Hertfordshire), als er ihn zusammen mit anderen besuchte, um ihn zu bitten eine Skulptur für das neue Lincoln Centre for the Performing Arts in New York zu schaffen und der o.g. Adressat war wohl Teilnehmer dieser Delegation. Heute befindet sich in diesen Gebäuden in Perry Green die Henry Moore Foundation. Stanton hatte bei dieser und wohl auch späteren Gelegenheiten Photos gemacht, die sich heute im Archiv der Foundation befinden (siehe hierzu deren website). Näheres über die Person des Empfänger dieser Zeilen konnte ich nicht ermitteln, aber es muß sich um eine namhafte Persönlichkeit (der amerikanischen Literaturszene?) gehandelt haben, denn es lassen sich in amerikanischen Archiven/Sammlungen zahlreiche Briefe namhafter Persönlichkeiten an einen Marshall E. Bean nachweisen, die alle aus demselben Zeitraum stammen und sich mit dessen schwerer Krankheit und wohl bevorstehendem Tod befassen, so z.B. vom Forschungsreisenden Thor Heyerdahl, den Schriftstellern und Dichtern Arthur Koestler, Kurt Vonnegut, John Ciardi und Samuel Beckett, dem Theologen/Philosophen Reinhold Niebuhr, dem Schauspieler Cary Grant u.a.
