THIS BOOK IS ONE OF A MERE HANDFUL OF AGATHA CHRISTIE UK PUBLISHED BOOKS THAT WASN'T PUBLISHED BY HER PRIMARY PUBLISHER COLLINS - VERY RARE BOOK AND EVEN RARER IN ORIGINAL DUST JACKET. Book has just one or two creased page corners, no former ownership markings or used book store marks/stamps/stickers inside, small faint moisture marks to top/bottom to endpapers otherwise clean endpapers with no scotch tape staining or markings (hint of age darkening lines/foxing), no foxing to pages, slight dust soiling/foxing/age darkening to outer page edges, no spine splits, no spine lean, no wear to board edges or corners, no spine splits, no dust soiling/discoloration to panels, tiny bumped board corner. Dust Jacket has chipping at spine tips and along top edge on panel with related closed tears/creasing next to the top edge chipping, otherwise no chipping or tearing or creasing, slight wear to front flap crease (primarily at corners), light dust soiling to this all-white dust jacket, no spine fading/darkening, faint moisture mark to spine otherwise no soiling or staining. AGATHA CHRISTIE short story "THE ARCADIAN DEER" (Labours of Hercules #3) in Strand Magazine #589 - January 1940 - illustrated by Ernest Ratcliff (later published in book form in 1947 in "The Labours of Hercules". Pre-WWII Strand magazines are quite difficult to find (particularly with both covers intact). Magazine is very nice - no wear to squared spine with no paper loss and no tears at spine tips (common defect), no chipping or tearing, bottom right corner crease on cover, no missing pages, rear cover intact, no former ownership markings inside, virtually no edge wear, no sun age darkening and no soiling or staining to cover, no wear to spine lettering. Lee that appear nowhere else. This is a large format heavy/thick magazine (like Saturday Evening Post but thicker).
