Hardcover - Early printing. Very uncommon young adult book by this historian best known for his work on the American Revolution. While most of French's novels, whether for children or adults were historical fiction, this book, set at a boy's summer camp and school, is a contemporary story of teenage boys and sports. Illustrated with a frontispiece and 12 internal glossy plates by Bernard J. Rosenmeyer. 246 pp. Poor condition, reading copy only (missing one plate and pp 203-4, another plate is loose but still present, some fraying and rubbing and wear to the spine and the corners, prev owner's name dated Christmas 1911) .
