Trade Paperback. Condition: Very Good. 4th Printing. 4th printing. Pencil underlining and marginalia scattered throughout, faint 1/2 inch crease on front corner. 2015 Trade Paperback. 256 pp. This volume, edited by Jeffrey P. Greenman and George Kalantzis, marks another compilation from the Wheaton Theology Conference. 2009's event produced the wealth of work represented here exploring the theological foundations for a faithful approach to the church practices that contribute to spiritual formation, that is, to our sanctification in the power of the Holy Spirit. Including essays from keynote speakers Dallas Willard and Gordon Fee as well as contributing essays by noted presenters such as Chris Hall, David Gushee, Linda Cannell, Cherith Fee Nordling and Lawrence Cunningham, this book offers a stimulating exploration of the historical, biblical and theological dimensions of spiritual formation. It will be of special interest to those who serve as pastors, spiritual directors, church ministry leaders and Christian educators.

Foresters, ecologists and scientists from various disciplines have often claimed that stands or groups of trees of mixed species have advantages over same species planting. This book brings together people from these diverse areas to discuss the advantages, including aspects of timber production, synergism between trees with different life habits, the use of nitrogen fixing species, the diversity of habitats offered to plants and animals, and the balance of factors that may diminish the risk of storm damage, pest outbreaks or other catastrophes. The book begins by considering growth, yield and culture of mixed species stands from a forester's viewpoint. Then interactions among tree species are considered, particularly those that affect tree nutrition. Later chapters discuss mixed species stands as habitats for herbaceous flora, birds, mammals and invertebrates. Finally the book highlights the issues and priorities for further research.

George Green (1793-1841) was a British mathematical physicist famous for his 1928 publication, "An Essay on the Application of Mathematical Analysis to the Theories of Electricity and Magnetism". Green's new theories and functions helped many other scientists further their work, such as Schwinger work on electrodynamics in 1948 that eventually earned him the 1965 Nobel Prize. Green was a Graduate of Cambridge, 1838, shortly before his death. Unfortunately, Green's work was not well known during his lifetime. However, The George Green Library and the George Green Institute for Electromagnetics Research, both at the University of Nottingham, are named in his honor. Green's Windmill was restored to working order in 1986, now a popular museum and science center in Nottingham. Green's memorial stone, at the Westminster Abbey, is in a nave adjoining the graves of Sir Isaac Newton and Lord Kelvin.
