There are also charming woodcut vignette illustrations in both volumes in keeping with the history, From ancient Briton onwards. The maps have some small clever old repairs to one or 2 at the backs due to opening carelessly in their lives, but minor, no loss to any and colours fresh, no stains (these are hardly ever found in this scarce work as they frame well) Original red blind and gilt stamped cloth, worn at spine at edges and where the boards show in places (see photos) with loss to bottom corner of volume 2 and head of the spine on vol 2 has been repaired with red material. Most sections still unopened along the top edges, gatherings still attached and edges uncut, Contents still very good and clean and no stains or smells. Large or Crown octavo. Measures 26 x 17.5 cm.
