In its lifetime and in this issue 'Motif' beautifully and thoroughly covered all forms of visual art. This issue is thrilling in its breadth and concept. The cover by Laurence Scarfe is worn; the spine has damage to the head. Yet, it is vivid and shiveringly vibrant. Eight volume hardcover set, published between 1958 and 1961, all of the books have a slight skew or lean to their binding, bumps with some splitting and chipping to paper at their spine ends and cover corners, wear to their edges, and sunning to their spines and edges. Additionally, a couple of the books have a thin pull or crack to their binding, and No. 5 has a chip to the tail of its spine piece.
