Soft cover. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. 1st Edition. 52 pages, in 9.75" X 7.25" sizing. Bowen's wonderfully eclectic and extremely valuable, from a cricket history angle, quarterly - sub-titled 'A Journal devoted to the Noble Game of Cricket' - was published for eight years from 1963 and contained much innovative historical information and views, either from its trenchant editor and proprietor or from his many contributors. This is a single copy from 1967 and its articles include: South African White Cricketers; A Cure for our Cricket, by SAC Francis; Maiden Centuries of 200 or more, by AH Wagg; Index to 18th Century Matches 1774-1800, by J Carter; early German-Danish Account of Cricket; Dorset Rangers' tour to Portugal, by D[avid] Kelly; The 1967 Season in Pakistan, by Norman Stanley; and several book reviews, including one by CLR James. The final page is a reprint of a page from the previous issue which evidently had some errors. This copy, in blue stiffened covers, has remnants of a bookplate on inside front cover; and a number of inked corrections or observations by a previous owner.

This is the run of the four individual copies of Bowen's still highly-regarded CQ from 1964, No 1 (65 pages) issued in January, No 2 (72 pages) in April, No 3 (64 pages) in July, and No 4 (78 pages) in October. See accompanying illustrations showing the Contents pages of each - histories or summaries of cricket in different countries or region abound, such as East Africa, Ceylon, Pakistan; many international tours are covered; there are plenty of book reviews, often somewhat trenchant ones from the editor; historical snippets and features help to make the issues interesting and wide-ranging in content. Covers tend to be a little soiled or marked but internally all issues are in very good shape despite some oxidation around staples.
