La circolare riporta il regolamento per concorrere ai premi messi in palio per i partecipanti,: Premii Principe Umberto (3 premi di L. 4000 ciascuno per le 3 opere di pittura e scultura considerate piu' commendevoli);Â Saverio Fumagalli (3 premi di L. 4000 a incoraggiamento di un giovine artista italiano); Antonio Gavazzi (1 premio di L. 4000 per un'opera di pittura a soggetto storico esposta da un alunno della scuola della R. Accademia di Brera). La prima triennale di Brera che si tenne nel maggio giugno 1891 viene considerata come una mostra rivoluzionaria nell'ambito dell'arte italiana di quegli anni e segna l'inizio dell'arte moderna nel nostro paese.
