Full-Leather. Condition: Good+. The work is divided into three "Books" which are published in 4 volumes with volumes 2 and 3 consisting of Book 2. Contents are very good or better -- clean, tight, and bright. The brown leather bindings are in good condition with some chipping of the spine tops (v2 lacks 1/2" at spine top), light wear to the edges and general rubbing to the surface. Volume one is missing the upper spine label (title) and volume 4 is missing the lower spine label (volume #). Volumes have a small name stamp. ; Small 4to 9" - 11" tall.
Leather. Condition: VERY GOOD. Complete set in eight volumes. Quarto tomes illustrated throughout with engraved plates, all present. Some moderate wear to the extremities, final 8th volume front board is detached, otherwise all volumes are very sound of binding with clean fresh text only showing a bit of typical age spotting, bit of chipping to the spine labels but all lettering intact; presents very handsomely on the shelf.
