A very nice copy of the 1966 (3rd edition) of H C Randall-Stevens' most well known work, complete with an unclipped dust jacket. Randall-Stevens was a British singer and war veteran, who went on to found an esoteric order known as The Knights Templar… of Aquarius. In the 1920s he claimed that he began receiving psychic voices. This is perhaps his most popular book, focusing on Egypt as a colony of Atlantis, and the notion that the initiation temples sacred to Osiris were hidden under the Sphinx. A classic occult work! This edition is rare, especially in this condition. Pages excellent with NO inscriptions (unusually), no notes and no foxing. All illustrations are intact. Binding is very good. Boards are clean. Dust jacket is very good for its age: unclipped, just a little shelf wear on the top edges and at flap folds, and a small slight indent on the spine which is hard even to see, and just a little natural age related wear. Spine a bit dulled, but titling is legible. Boards a bit bowed after storage. A couple small clusters of pages are dog-eared toward the corners. Slight…foxing to top page edges; none to faces of the pages, which are bright. There is a small gap at the rear of the pages making it appear that some pages formerly present may have been removed. However, the appendices A and B, which the table of contents list as the final two sections, are present, the latter ending halfway up the final page, so there may not be missing pages, after all, and the gap may be caused by the way the book was laid in storage. At time of listing there are no other copies of this work listed online. "Where formerly scientific theses, ecclesiastical dogma and political expediency have been generally accepted, we have placed Spiritual Truths and material facts side by side, thereby welding them together into a complete pattern. Randall-Stevens was a British singer and war veteran, who went on to found an esoteric order known as The Knights Templar of Aquarius. In the 1920s he claimed that he began receiving psychic voices. This edition is rare, especially in this condition. Pages are very good, a small neat first name inscribed on upper front DJ flap (see photo) but otherwise no inscriptions, notes, tearing or creasing. No foxing or tanning, just slight general age wear. All illustrations are intact. Binding is sound, and just slight give to spine. NOT an ex library book. Boards are clean and tight. Dust jacket is good for its age: unclipped, original price sticker on front flap. Just some age related browning mostly at top edge and near spine, and a little mild crease on cover (see photos for condition ). Overall though the cover is very good and completely sound, and in many copies is typically in poor condition or missing altogether. An essential book for the classic occult collector.
