First American Edition. -------------Brown cloth covers with black and gilt spine label, book is 8" tall. 368 pages with frontispiece portrait.---------- VERY GOOD CONDITION, light wear covers with chipping to the spine label which is dry and cracked. Solid book although some erosion of paper at inner seams-----, complete and clean text--- - the paper used for the text has a nice cloth feel. With a signature and 1850 date written inside the cover.

Later 19th century half leather, spine paneled with label lettered gilt, marbled end-papers, edges colored red. Underlinings in pencil throughout, with neat 19th century scholarly notes in pen in margins, some of which would seem the result of original research by someone familiar with the Lisburn parish records. Light wear to binding at corners, otherwise a very attractive copy.
