Original moire blue cloth with debossed decoration of ice axe and rope on front cover, gilt lettering spine. The book is in near fine condition but has a 4mm abrasion to front cover that has broken through the cloth (looks like a tiny bump mark), clean, sharp corners, no owner marks or writing on any pages, no foxing, solid binding. The original dust jacket has light diffuse grubbiness, minor rubbing, no tears, price-clipped front flap corner. The book measures 199mm tall x 153mm and has 656 pages. Despite the large number of pages, the book is quite compact. A huge anthology of the writings of climbers up to 1938. J.A.
