The "Bintel Brief" was the letters to the editor section of the paper, and served as sort of a "Dear Abby" column for Jewish immigrants. The letters and responses selected by the editor provide a poignant and sometimes quite humorous look at the life of these immigrants in their early years in New York. Includes selections from a period of 60 years, from 1906 to 1966. Upper right corner of title page is thin because of paper loss when a sticker was apparently removed. 215 pages, 5 x 8 inches.
