The first edition of the posthumous biography of John Anderson, 1st Viscount Waverley (1882-1958), presented by his widow to British diplomat Sir Ashley Clarke. Waverley was a Scottish civil servant of the British Government, playing vital roles in both World Wars, and holding the role of Governor of Bengal for five years in the 1930s. Anderson Shelters were named after him - having initiated their development in 1938. Size: 8vo.
