Louis-Frédéric Rouquette, né à Montpellier le 19 août 1884 et mort à Paris le 10 mai 1926, est un écrivain-voyageur français. Il a été considéré comme un Jack London d'expression française1 avant d'être quelque peu oublié. Il a écrit ce roman qui se déroule dans le Nord en 1920. Clarence Gagnon, né le 8 novembre 1881 à Montréal et mort le 5 janvier 1942 dans cette même ville, est un artiste-peintre canadien. Il existe près de 40 illustrations en couleurs hors-texte de ce grand artiste. Ce livre de 235 pages est dans un état presque parfait. The present edition of Le Grand Silence Blanc is inspired by that published by Les Editions Mornay, in Paris, in 1928. This new edition, printed in 1360 copes, plus 90 non-commercial copies, all numbered by hand, was printed on September 11, 1982, on the presses of the Apex workshops in Montreal. Louis-Frédéric Rouquette , born in Montpellier on August 19, 1884and died in Paris on May 10, 1926, is a French travel writer . He was considered a French-speaking Jack London 1 before being somewhat forgotten. He wrote this novel set in the North in 1920. Clarence Alphonse Gagnon, RCA LL. D. (November 8, 1881 January 5, 1942) was a French Canadian painter, draughtsman, engraver and illustrator. He is known for his landscape paintings of the Laurentians and the Charlevoix region of eastern Quebec. There are almost 40 tipped-in colour illustrations by this great artist. This book, 235 pages is in near-fine condition.
